Baptism

Last Saturday was the beginning of a very busy upcoming few months! Before the derby we had a baptism, which is always a really nice event, even during the darker month of Lent.

Derby

Went to a Roller Derby on Saturday, it was a lot of fun; and like any good sideline photographer I nearly got smashed! First time shooting this, need a little more practice, but otherwise it was a good time. I would love to take more candid shots of the girls, and get used to this type of shooting in low light.

The world has gone all Pastel - y

Driving along recently I've noticed the world has gone all pastel - y. I love nature, but I don't usually take so many nature shots. This spring I can't help it. This Saturday though, I will have a more rough and tumble photo to share.

It's amazing what you find tucked away. I took this image for a photo project for a class about religions. I even remember loving this image when I saw it on film (yes film!) but I never went any further with it, because my teacher at the time "didn't like it". Sometimes I feel teachers can be just a little picky, for no real reason.

Spring.....

....I'm ready for it and all this rainy spring weather is making me want it more!

Teaching

About two weeks ago I was asked to teach a Nature/Photography course at the Ivy Creek Natural Area. Most of the students were new to photography, but were very open to trying new things. Closer to the end I couldn't hardly get them to stop, they said, "We never realized how many beautiful things there are to see before!" Below are some photos from one of my "students."

Yes please.

Sometimes I just like the graphic arts.

What a way to use a book

After being off for awhile, because of forgetting by powercord for my laptop (boo!), I just had to post these. What an interesting way to use books, and photography...great use of focus!
